Nu Art Studio, located in the vibrant city of Bandung, is a renowned contemporary art gallery and sculpture park established by the acclaimed Indonesian sculptor, Nyoman Nuarta. This impressive artistic hub is particularly famous for housing miniature models and maquettes of his monumental works, most notably the iconic Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue, which stands majestically in Bali. It's a place where art, culture, and nature beautifully converge, offering a unique visual and intellectual experience.

Nu Art Studio stands out as a unique attraction due to its dual function as both a public art space and a working studio for Nyoman Nuarta. It gained significant popularity as the primary site where the colossal Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue for Bali was meticulously crafted and assembled in sections. Visitors can marvel at Nuarta's distinctive sculptural style, often characterized by intricate details and grand scale, especially visible in the maquettes and other finished works on display. Activities include exploring the sprawling outdoor sculpture garden, visiting the indoor gallery showcasing Nuarta's creative process and smaller works, and climbing to the top of the main gallery building for a panoramic view of the Bandung landscape. The studio also occasionally hosts cultural events and workshops, enriching the visitor experience.
Beyond admiring the sculptures at Nu Art Studio, budget travelers can explore several other nearby attractions. A short ride will take you to popular shopping and entertainment complexes like Cihampelas Walk or Paris Van Java Mall, where you can enjoy window shopping, catch a movie, or find affordable dining options. For those interested in local culture, Taman Budaya Jawa Barat (West Java Cultural Park) is also relatively accessible and sometimes hosts free or low-cost events. Don't forget to explore the local culinary scene around the Setiabudi and Pasteur areas, which are brimming with hidden gems offering delicious and budget-friendly Indonesian dishes, from Sundanese specialties to street food favorites.
