As years passed by, Camarines Norte has gained quite an attraction from both local and international visitors. A day or 2 wouldn’t be enough to explore and enjoy the many beautiful places and things this province has to offer, however, it’s not to say it’s impossible.
For those who are on move and only have a day to explore Camarines Norte, here are our suggestions.
For some off the grid relaxation
If you’re planning to spend that one day in Camarines Norte to reset, relax, and get away from everything, there’s no better place to do it than in Calaguas.
Calaguas is a group of islands that you can reach by a 2-hour boat ride from the mainland. Most people might be more familiar with Mahabang Buhangin Beach that can be found in Tinaga Island, one of the main islands that make up Calaguas.

Over the years, this place has seen quite a development. From a quiet and very raw camping style, there are now island resorts you can stay in. But the best thing about Calaguas is no matter how much it is evolving, it’s raw natural beauty is still untouched and undisturbed.
There are now plenty who offer Calaguas tours. So whatever you might have in mind for this 1-day trip, you’ll find something that would work for you.
For some adventure
Bagasbas Beach in Daet, Camarines Norte (which is also the capital of Camarines Norte) offers quite a place for those who love to surf or any other water sports. This Pacific beach is one of the safest spots for both beginners and seasoned surfers.

You can spend your day here and do all sorts of water sports such as surfing and kitesurfing. You can also just spend it hanging out, watching surfers and kite surfers from the safety of the brown-sand beach.
Another municipality, you can explore for some water fun is in San Lorenzo Ruiz. There are plenty of waterfalls you can visit such as Nabangko Falls and Ibatan Falls. You can also do some canyoning and river trekking in Mampurog River.

For some historical exploration
If you’re seeking to spend that day getting to know the history of Camarines Norte, then there’s no better place to go than in Vinzons, Camarines Norte. Here, visitors can visit many historical spots that tell the history of the province. Some of our suggestions to visit are the 400-year-old church, St. Peter the Apostle Church; and the heritage houses called Bahay na Bato.

Furthermore, not only is it a great place to roam around, but Vinzons is also a great place if you want to do a food trip. Visit places like Estrela’s Garden that serves authentic Bicolano cuisines. They say, there’s no better way to get to know the rich culture of a place than to eat its many delicacies.
A day wouldn’t be enough to enjoy the beauty and wonders Camarines Norte has to offer. So, if you can spend more than just a day, the better. But if you only have a day, then we hope our suggestions can help you narrow it down.
