Just like every other place in the world. Bohol’s tourism was put on pause when the pandemic hit. However, according to Governor Arthur C. Yap during a press dinner a few months back, they have since restarted to revive the province’s tourism slowly and safely, starting December of last year. He shared, "We have to convince visitors that it is safe to come to Bohol, but we also have to convince our local stakeholders that it is safe to accept the visitors.”

So how are they reviving their tourism industry exactly?

In the same event, Governor Yap mentioned that even before the pandemic hit Bohol’s tourist sector, they already had new strategies to help further boost their tourism through building a cultural itinerary. “Aside from visiting churches, we wanted to bring in a culinary experience with it para may impact din sa farmers. Tapos may handicraft experience rin," Yap said. He shared how this new approach has shone the spotlight on aspects of Bohol outside its most famous attractions. As well as, help local Boholanos thrive.
