Zambales is one of the many favorite destinations for quick getaways and weekend trips away from the concrete jungle. From mountains to beaches, it is no surprise that a lot of people choose to visit this province for some reprieve and relaxation.
It is also another province that relies a big portion of its economy on tourism. That is why when Covid-19 happened, many businesses suffered greatly. Things are looking up, however, as it slowly started safely reopening its borders for domestic travelers recently, and with it many of the destinations we certainly missed.
Currently, Zambales is under Modified General Community Quarantine until June 30, 2021, and every traveler who wishes to visit the province needs to follow certain guidelines to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Mount Tapulao - Mount Tapulao is the highest mountain in Central Luzon. It also has one of the highest elevation gains in the Philippines standing at 2,037 meters above sea level. The hike in Tapulao isn’t an easy one with changing temperatures and rough terrains. So if you’re new to hiking, best to be prepared. However, the trek is a beautiful one as you’ll be around grasslands, forests, and more, and the view at the summit is just really breathtaking.

Mount Pinatubo - One of the most popular volcanoes in the country, Mount Pinatubo is famous for being the second-largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century. The hike going to the crater itself will take more than a few hours and can get pretty hot and exhausting especially since there are no trees to use as shades. But even if you’re not a seasoned hiker, this is something you can do and enjoy.

El Kabayo Stables - Not many know tourists know this but Zambales has a horse ranch that you can visit even if you’re not a trained equestrian. In El Kabayo Stables, you can learn how to ride horses or even just hang out with them. This luscious farm not only offers horseback riding but also takes good care of the animal’s overall well-being. You can also visit El Kabayo Falls while you’re here.

Inflatable Island Subic - Opened last 2017, this water theme park has become quite popular for tourists over the years. However, it has continued to expand - now stretching to the size of 10 basketball courts - making it a great place to visit all over again if you have.
