Recently, we’ve seen a surge in the number of people who tested positive for Covid-19. In the last few days alone, we’ve seen record-high numbers and it looks like it’s not about to go down any time soon. Because of this, new and stricter guidelines were recently announced by the national government to help curve this pandemic before it gets worst.
We know the timing isn’t great especially since Holy Week falls directly during these dates (April 1-4). In our country, we either use this time for a much-needed respite from our hectic lives, as a time to spend some time with our families at home or to go on a vacation. But given our current situation, this year’s Holy Week is looking quite the same as last year’s.
Don’t fret ~ as things are looking somewhat different, but first, you need to be updated on the current guidelines.
According to the latest update, Resolution No. 104, from the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), Metro Manila along with nearby provinces such as Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal will remain in General Community Quarantine but with additional restrictions. This will be implemented starting March 22, 2021, to April 4, 2021. If you’re living within any of these places, here are the important things you need to know:
A curfew between 10 pm to 5 am. However, workers, cargo vehicles, and public transportation will not be restricted by the said curfew.
Persons below 18-years-old and above 65-years-old, those with comorbidities, and pregnant women will need to remain inside their residences at all times.
A “travel bubble” between these provinces, meaning no one can travel to and from these places except if you’re an authorized person outside their residences (APORs). This includes essential workers, health and emergency frontline services personnel; government officials and government frontline personnel; duly-authorized humanitarian assistance actors; persons traveling for medical or humanitarian reasons; persons going to the airport for travel abroad, returning overseas Filipinos and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) will be unimpeded for as long as they show their respective work identification cards. For Individuals crossing zones for work or business and going back home, they will also be allowed to travel to and from the said areas (only).
Public transportation will retain current capacity subject to minimum health standards.
Public gatherings are limited to 10-person. This includes religious gatherings, weddings, baptisms, etc.
Face-to-face meetings will be prohibited and work-from-home set-up is highly advised.
Indoor dining in enclosed spaces will be prohibited while outdoor dining is highly encouraged but must observe a maximum of 50 percent venue capacity. Takeout and delivery are encouraged as well.
Operations of driving schools, cinemas, libraries, archives, museums, and cultural centers, limited social events at accredited tourism establishments, and limited tourism attractions will be temporarily suspended except open-air tourism attractions.
With all these added restrictions, you’re probably bummed out if you already have planned a quick trip outside the Metro. However, given the circumstances we’re currently facing, we think it’s best to take all necessary precautions in keeping you and your loved ones safe during this time.
Here at RedDoorz, we recognized the needs of every Filipino traveler.
