There are a lot of things to consider when planning a summer vacation. Especially during this unprecedented time we are currently experiencing, summer seems too much to manage right now.

Don’t fret - we know how much work is needed to plan a safe journey that’s worth every penny. That’s why we’re here to help as much as we can. Starting off with what kind of summer adventure you should go to this year.

According to the WHO, it’s much riskier to be indoors than to be outdoors. But be as it may, Covid-19 can still be transmitted wherever you are. Practicing health and safety guidelines such as wearing masks and face shields, social distancing, and regular hand washing or sanitizing is still the key to preventing the virus to spread out. So, if you do plan on going on a summer adventure, please be cautious and take all necessary steps in making sure you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.

Now, given the circumstances, we’ve narrowed down our summer adventures to either going on a road trip or going to the beach. Here we list down the pros and cons to help you decide.

Going on a road trip

The Philippines may be made up of thousands of different islands, but a road trip can still be achieved. There are many ways you can go about this. Either you go around the island or province you’re in or go on a massive trip from Luzon to Mindanao, road trips around the country will certainly be exciting as every town and province are different from each other.

PROS

  • You can go and visit many places

  • You control everything: activities, duration, etc.

  • You can go on an off beaten path

  • You can save on money

  • You can change your plans while you are on the road

  • Road trips are a rather flexible sort of travel

  • You can experience new ways of life

CONS

  • Driving can get exhausting

  • The journey is time-consuming

  • You may get lost

  • You may not be prepared for adverse weather conditions

  • Accidents are possible

  • More chances to spread or get infected during this time

  • More requirements to research and to prepare depending on where you’re planning to go

  • It can be bad for the environment

Going to the beach

The Philippines is known to have plenty of amazing beaches - even world-class ones. Every province you’re planning to visit, there’s a big chance that there’s a beach nearby where you can have some fun in the sun.

PROS

  • Controlled environment

  • The beach is a natural stress reliever

  • Warmer days and chiller nights

  • All the seafood you can eat

  • Spectacular view of sunrise and sunset

  • Abundant sunshine means an abundant supply of Vitamin D

  • You can be as chill as you want to be

  • You only need to prepare several requirements during this time

  • Fewer people to interact with

CONS

  • You can get bad sunburns and insect bites

  • Lots of sand

  • Popular beach destinations can get crowded (though this time it might not as be)

  • There might not be a lot of things to do

  • Some beaches might be closed right now

These are just some of the things you can experience in either of the two adventures. However, we encourage you to discover both worlds for yourself because both are liberating, and both can give you that summer adventure you’re itching to go to.

So, whether you are up for a sunny day at the shore or go on a massive road trip, always remember that you can still have fun and be safe even if the days are challenging right now.
