In general, it’s easy to forget the difference between certain things especially for terms that may seem the same thing. It would be best to know their correct definitions in order not to confuse other people.
When Coronavirus happened, the terms isolation and quarantine may have caused confusion to the general public. It’s understandable as those terms do have similarities.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, isolation and quarantine are public health practices used to protect the public by preventing exposure to people who have or may have a contagious disease.
Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick.
Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. These people may have been exposed to a disease and do not know it, or they may have the disease but do not show symptoms.
To put it simply, quarantine isn’t reserved for people who are ill. People who appear healthy can still be quarantined.
Whilst there is a difference between isolation and quarantine, the measures you take to self-quarantine or isolate at home are similar.
Now that’s settled, the terms “isolation” and “quarantine” also apply when it comes to hotels and other accommodations being used during this time.

Given the rate of how infectious this virus is, hospitals and other medical establishments all across the world had a hard time and couldn’t keep up with the number of patients being infected. Thus, asking hotels to aid them when it came to isolating and quarantining people, and just like its definitions, there are slight differences between the two of them.
Isolation Hotels - These are official government-declared hotels solely used for patients who tested positive, and no regular customers can book here. These are usually used by hospitals and medical organizations as an extension of their facilities.
Quarantine Hotels - Government-approved hotels or establishments used to restrict the spread of the virus. People who book these facilities may have been exposed to a disease and do not know it, or they may have the disease but do not show symptoms.
Regular Hotels - Hotels are establishments providing accommodations, meals, and other services for travelers and tourists.
