As most of us are still asked to stay at home, frontline and essential workers have continued to do their jobs, risking their lives in the process. It is because of this that we’re able to continue to live as normally as we can even while we’re stuck at home. That is why it’s only right for us to continue supporting them in whatever means we can.

Here are just a few that you can do to support them even in the comforts of your own homes.

1. Be kind – It may seem like such a simple thing, but showing kindness during this time can go a long way. Be more patient and understanding with both frontline and essential workers. Tip them whenever you’re able to. They’re doing their best to serve you given the circumstances.

2. Feed frontline workers – Given that these are intense and busy times especially if you’re a medical frontline worker, sending food is a great way to show how much they are appreciated and supported during this uncertain time. There are plenty of ways you can do this. You don’t even need to cook them on your own.

3. Reach out to family and friends who are essential workers – Even just a simple text message or DM can give encouragement to people – let alone to family and friends. Check on them constantly as it will give them encouragement, and they will feel appreciated amidst the difficult and dangerous times they’re experiencing. This will also make them feel like they’re not alone, and that you’re there whenever they need you.

4. Donate and contribute to relief efforts – There are plenty of organizations – both government and private sector – with different fundraising platforms you can donate or contribute to, that aids relief efforts for Covid-19. Financial or other means,  it will be greatly appreciated.

5. Stay at home – Staying at home and practicing all health and safety guidelines are above all else the most important way for us to support our frontline and essential workers. By doing these simple things, the spread of the virus will be reduced, effectively giving our healthcare system more time to be able to rest and to find a vaccine.

Our frontline and essential workers are our modern-day heroes. They have been instrumental in keeping our community moving, albeit this unprecedented time. So, we encourage everyone to continue supporting them in whatever shape or form you’re able to during this time.

Stay safe and healthy always!
